Our Digital Community
Beginning in 2027, the Latinx Theatre Commons plans to place greater emphasis on open and community-centered platforms like Mastodon. While we’ll continue to maintain a presence on Instagram and Facebook, we’re committed to investing in spaces that better reflect the Commons’ values of openness, shared stewardship, and community ownership.
Mastodon is part of the open social web, meaning it isn’t owned by a single corporation or driven by algorithms that determine what people see. Instead, it is built around independently operated communities that give people greater control over their experience, encourage meaningful conversations, and prioritize connection over engagement metrics.
